Key Aspects of Storbie
Since it was first conceptualized, the goal of Storbie has been to make creating and managing a website accessible to anyone – no matter their IT know how. This hasn’t changed over the years, and we are still working on improvements to make it easier for anyone to get their business online.

There are a few key things to know about Storbie as a platform that you might run into while managing the website:

Whenever a change is made on Storbie, it does not impact the live website straight away. Instead, you can review any changes you have made before publishing everything to the live website! This helps to ensure that no accidental content deletions happen and gives all our customers an additional buffer when making adjustments to their websites.

There are four views of Storbie:
  • Manage:
    • This is the backend of your Storbie website, and where you come to perform managerial tasks, such as processing orders, or updating your website's settings.
  • Edit
    • This is where you come to edit the layout of your website's content, whether it be adding images, changing written content, or even adding in a new page!
  • Preview
    • This is where you can come to preview your changes without the editing borders and menu bars
  • View
    • This view displays the live website as it is at that point in time!

Here are a few extra things to note about the platform:
  • Storbie does not allow any custom code to be entered
    • This helps to improve the security of our platform, and ensures that all website's will not have downtime due to broken code!
  • Platform Security
    • Another factor of not allowing custom code, it greatly improves the security of the platform. We have recently undertaken a security, and were extremely satisfied with the results!
  • Users
    • There are two levels of site user; Site Owner and Site Administrator. Admins are able to make changes to the content of the website, but only the site owner is able to access the account section of the website and perform certain tasks, such as taking the site live!
  • Beta Features
    • Beta features are features that we have recently developed at Storbie and therefore have limited access. When a new feature is developed at Storbie (after it has been thoroughly tested on our end) we release it to a small group of customers to be able to monitor it and receive feedback.

Images
There are a few things to note about the imagery you include on your Storbie website:
  • Storbie simplifies including imagery on your website, to ensure there are no issues the come through! If there are any issues uploading an image to your website, it is likely to be due to one of three reasons:
    • Storbie has placed restrictions on image file size, to ensure that your website pages remain fast. All images to be uploaded need to be under 8mb, which is more than enough to have a high quality image on your website!
    • It has unsupported characters, such as  !@#$%^&*’;?+=
    • Storbie only supports the use of .jpg images, and file imports will fail if it includes other image types.
Domain Names
While Storbie provides you with a domain for your website, we recommend registering your own domain name for your website. Registering your own domain name comes with an array of benefits, such as:
  • Helping with the SEO of your website
  • Providing a more professional address for your website
  • Improving your website's credibility
  • Making it easier for your customers to remember and access your website again in the future
  • Helping to build your brand
  • Prevents other businesses from purchasing the domain name
  • You are able to create custom email addresses under a domain name (such as support@storbie.com)
We strongly recommend registering a domain name and are more than happy to help in getting this set up for you! The first step is to scope out your domain name options and see what is available.

You can check domain availability here: https://dnschecker.org/search-domain-name-checker.php

Email Addresses
If you would like to take your brand a step further, there is the option to add email addresses to your domain – such as support@storbie.com. This can help to break down the different types of enquiries your website might receive, and also provides a professional point of contact for your customers.

There is a cost associated with creating these inboxes, but once you have registered a domain you are able to reach out to your registrar and ask about this option!

Payment Gateways
In selling products online, there are many different options for how to take payment from your customers. Many of the different gateways offer a different way to take payment and therefore can attract a different type of customer.

The Storbie platform integrates with multiple payment gateways that you can offer to your customer base. Here is a breakdown of some of the key options below:
Each of the integrated gateways comes with charges and transaction rates, so we recommend looking through the list above to figure out which gateway is best suited to your online store and your customers.

Shipping
Storbie shipping can be straightforward to set up - You just need to think of the different shipping methods your customers might require. Here are a few common examples that we see set up:
  • Click & Collect - Free
  • Local Delivery within 5km - Free
  • Urban Addresses - $7.50
  • Rural Addresses - $10
These are very basic shipping options to simplify the process, however, you may have many more that suit your business, or perhaps you are only offering click & collect!

Product Galleries
Product galleries are how you can display groups of products on your website. It is a key factor in helping your customers find what they are after as quickly as possible!

There are two pieces of product information that we can use to quickly populate product galleries: product tags, and product classifications.
  • Product classifications (recommended for pharmacies)
    • The products that we have in the Supplier Network all have product classifications assigned, and the product galleries that exist on your website are already set up to pull from these classifications. This means that any products that you push through to Storbie that connect to the Supplier Network will automatically populate a gallery.
  • Product Tags (recommended for DIY's)
    • If you are a pharmacy, some product tags may flow through when you initially push your products up, however you are able to assign more through your POS system. We can change the master of tags over to Storbie by specific request, allowing you to manage tags through Storbie itself.
    • If you are a DIY customer, you will need to assign these tags to products as you go through (this can be done in bulk through a product export/import – here is more information on bulk product adjustments).

The galleries on your website can be set up to use either tags or classifications, each having its own benefit. Classifications are predetermined and can save you a lot of time in working out what falls into what category. With tags, you are able to have a much higher level of control and customisation over your galleries, but it takes a lot of time to set up and manage effectively.
