PayPal
In terms of payment gateways, PayPal is the most popular by far for pharmacies on the Storbie platform and accounts for 90% of transactions. PayPal allows for Credit and debit card transactions.
You can sign up to PayPay and have it connected to your site in less than 20 minutes. Here is a guide to set up PayPal on your Storbie Site:

PayPal does not condone transactions for prescription items.
POLi
POLi Pay is the cheapest option for pharmacies as it facilitates a connection to the customer’s internet banking login, which POLi automates and processes. The payment is transferred directly into your bank account.
POLi will process your application for a new account in one business day. The transaction fee is 1%, here is some more information: https://www.polipay.co.nz/sell-with-poli/pricing/
With POLi you can also receive payments for prescription medicines., if that is something you are interested in facilitating.
Stripe
Another option, which is suited to pharmacies is Stripe. It is simple to set up and accept Credit and debit transactions. Stripe also has a process to allows you to sell restricted products with them.
Sign-up is easy, and set-up is just a simple. For more information here is the guide to setting up Stripe on your storbie site: Adding Stripe Payment Gateway to Your Site (storbie.com)
Part Pay Solutions
We also have integrations with AfterPay, which is a popular part-pay solution with consumers and can lead to higher cart values.

Other Options
Other options are gateways like Windcave (DPS Payment Express) and eWay ( See “Gateway Plan ”), although signing up can be a lengthy process for pharmacies. The issue here sits with the requirement to open a new Merchant account with your bank, as pharmacies are seen as high risk to both the Payment Gateway and banks, due to the huge fines that can be incurred from Visa and Mastercard if laws are broken around the sale of restricted medicines. The processing of a merchant account application can take some time as your bank will require financial documentation.
