For the optimum balance of quality and upload speed you should upload your photos and other images at a resolution of at least 2000 by 2000 pixels, in a high quality JPG or PNG format. Uploading larger images is fine, but it will take longer with no discernible improvement in quality. Uploading smaller images will result in potentially lower quality and display sizes for your images.

When an image is uploaded to Storbie it is processed by our system and a high-resolution copy is stored, the resolution will be the same as the original and the aspect ratio will be maintained.

That reference image is then used to generate different sizes as required on the fly. When the image is resized it is always compressed in JPG format.

Most bitmap formats are supported, the most common being JPG (or JPEG), PNG and GIF.

Document file formats are not supported, e.g. Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF. To upload photos that are inside a document you will need to extract them first.

Proprietary file formats and vector based images are also not supported, e.g. PSD, SVG, AI, etc.
